Well, its official, I have been here for one month. I am really liking it here in Arequipa. The language is going as well as expected and in two months we are off to Pucallpa.
We have a lot of fun here, the other day we had a guys night out and went to the go-kart races. It was a lot of fun! They don’t exactly have rules here. You can go as fast as you want and smash into who ever you want (nobody cares) but!!!!! You do have to watch your loose clothing! I got the tail of my jacket caught in the drive chain and it tried to suck me in! the funny part was my car didn’t stop or even slow down. So, I kept going and got 2nd place.. my Peruvian friend had to come pull me out of the go-kart my jacket was pulled in so tight I couldn’t even get it off!! But, I lived to tell the tale. After that we all piled into the Duran’s Volkswagen bug. Seven guys in a bug. It was a good time.
On Tuesday a bunch of us went to Lima to start our residency process. We left at 5:55am and got back at about 6:30pm. It was a long day of filling out paper work but we did get to eat at Chili’s. its good to eat a good burger at least once a month.
